Administrative Assistant

Administration support and assistance is key to the effective operation of Westminster Community Life Center.  The volunteer Administrative Assistant will assist with a variety of office projects including but not limited to documenting in-house procedures, developing a procedures manual, website content support, filing, organizing office supplies, receiving deliveries, and special event support. Key skills and competencies needed include:

– computer skills and knowledge of relevant software
– knowledge of operation of standard office equipment.
– knowledge of clerical and administrative procedures and systems such as filing and record keeping
– knowledge of principles and practices of basic office management
– communication skills – written and verbal
– planning and organizing
– prioritizing
– problem assessment and problem solving
– information gathering and information monitoring
– attention to detail and accuracy
– flexibility
– adaptability
– customer service orientation
– teamwork


Grant Research Specialist

The Grant Research Specialist will research and identify applicable grants to support program objectives and general operating costs. They will identify small family foundations, corporate foundations, and other grant makers that are currently or will be accepting grant proposals in the near and distant future, along with funding programs that support out of school time programming, child and adult literacy support, girls STEM initiatives and college/career preparation. The Specialist will build a database for prospective grants in 2012.  Key skills and competencies needed include:

– computer literate
– familiar with Internet based grant research and online applications
– ability to work independently and have self-discipline is crucial to success
– excellent writing and editing skills
– overall passion to help under served community of Trenton


Human Resource Strategist

The Human Resource Strategist will work to initiate, develop and finalize a new employee orientation and an employee handbook for Westminster Community Life Center. As our organization continues to expand, it’s critical that new employees have a documented set of criteria in which to refer to regarding company policy and an effective orientation that introduces them to our company culture and procedures. Development of the handbook will be essential for the organization to avoid unnecessary legal matters and help employees to perform at their best. Volunteer will work alone either on sight or remotely with input from supervisor as needed and regularly scheduled check-in meetings.  Key skills and competencies needed include:

– computer skills and knowledge of desktop publishing
– knowledge of principles and practices of human resource management
– communication skills – written and verbal
– planning and organizing

– problem assessment and problem solving
